FROM TURTLE — I'M Back

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:02 pm

This is Turtle.

I had changed over to DSL Lite with Bell South Telephone Company and had trouble
getting to the newsgroup Feed in Germany for being off one day and back on the
next and had to go Bell South Newsgroup news reader. They did not have
alt.auto.Lexus on their newsgroup listing. I was cut off for a while and started
getting on Bell South to get the alt.auto.lexus on their newsgroup list. Well
after 20 e-mails , 10 phone calls, and a month later. alt.auto.lexus shows up to
log on to.

Well i know this is not anything to talk about but When a Blind Hog finds a
acron , he likes to talk about it.

Radio display in 1998 ES300

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:01 pm

I have a 1998 ES300 with the standard digital radio.  Recently part of the
digital display is impossible to read.  On several occasions the display has
gone back to normal where I can read the display; but that hasn’t happened
for the last month or so.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this problem?  Is it possible that the
problem is weather or moisture related?  Is there any way to fix this
problem?

Thank you,
Brian

RX 300: Transmission fix led to check engine lights on

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:01 pm

Hi,

I have a 99 RX300, i just had my transmission fixed. The car just stop
working – and i have realized that these transmission problems are
common in RX300s. But the real problem now is that right after i picked
it up from the shop, the check engine lights came on, also the trac off
lights come on after few miles – since it was saturday the aamco shop
where i had my transmission fixed was closed and i was travelling. when
i took it to the aamco shop near my house they said it was some oxygen
sensor code. I never had the check engine lights come on at all before.
My question is how could fixing the transmission lead to check engine
lights on?

I tried to reset it by unplugging the battery, but after i plugged it
back in, the lights came on after few miles.

Please help me with whatever you can!!!

Just say NO to Bin Ladin!!!!

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:01 pm

Hi all I am helping a friend promote a web site. You see a childhood
friend of hers lost her husband at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11,
2001. She has run into some hard times and my freind wants to help her.
So she came up with the idea to market Just say NO to Bin Ladin
dartboards and punching bag covers. Not only is she going to donate
part of the proceeds to her freind but an additional part of the
proceeds will go to the Firemans Fund. If you could take the time to
check out the web site it would sure be appreciated! The web site addy

Question for Lexus: Is Lexus the new Mitsubishi… or Audi?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:00 pm

Here is the intro to the New York Times article of 2/15:

"DETROIT, Feb. 15 – Federal regulators have opened a safety
investigation into 2004 models of the best-selling vehicle from Toyota
Motor’s Lexus division, the RX330 sport utility vehicle, after
receiving complaints about failures in its power brakes."
endquote

Transmission lag in the ES series that "works as designed". Failing
brakes in the RX330 that only a few people have problems with. Is this
a symptom of ambivalence on customer safety? Or are some Lexus drivers
just excessively sensitive to lag issues or error-prone? For those of
us with these problems, the answer is clear. Seriously, Lexus, will it
take someone dying in or because of your cars to force you to take
decisive, lifesaving action? I’m sure Lexus did the calculation and
decided the cost of reimbursing for the rare death caused by bad design
was cheaper than a massive recall.

97 Camry – When to replace struts?

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:00 pm

Dear experts,

I have a 97 Camry XLE with 125K miles on it.

I’m told that I should now change the front and
rear Macpherson struts.

Is it time to change them?  Or, how can I tell
if the struts need changing?

What differences should I feel in the handling
after replacing them?  If any?

Do struts wear out like brakes and tires, or
do they just work, or not, like an electrical part?

How much do they affect your wheel alignment?

Thanks a lot

IS300 Sound System Failure

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 5:00 pm

Bought a new 2005 IS300 and mid January the sound system went 100%
dead.
The lights on the radio/cd illuminate as normal but no sound. Waited 10
days for the amplifier module to be "special shipped". Returned car to
dealer and they say it was not the amp after all and they need to
replace the whole unit. More delays! Has anyone experienced the same
problem?
