Rep. Ed Towns, D-N.Y., chairman of the House Oversight and Government
Reform Committee, said the documents subpoenaed from ex-Toyota lawyer
Dimitrios Biller "indicate Toyota deliberately withheld records that
it was legally required to produce."

Biller also accuses Toyota of trying to hide "evidence of safety
defects from consumers and regulators, and fostered a culture of
‘hypocrisy and deceit,’ " Towns said.

The documents suggest Toyota entered into multimillion-dollar
settlements in civil cases when it feared the plaintiff’s lawyers were
getting close to discovering the existence of the "Books of
Knowledge."

My driver side seat belt won’t roll back (retract) as it use to,
mostly I have to manually feed it back, lubricant or replacement!!,

In her tearfull testimony before Congress, Mrs Smith said her Lexus
accelerated to 100 mph and it took several miles for it to shut down
so she could get it stopped in the left lane pull off. She did what
you or I would do with two footed braking, down shifting, keys off.
The enging kept varying up and down after it was pulled off. It finaly
shut down. DID SHE MEAN LEXUS ???? Or was that a mispeak ???

And I am only reporting what I heard all over CNN today so stop with
the stupid criticism of the witness already. There have been enough
other good, common folks with this problem that it is real. And the
Japanese and their employees are really in business=war against s, so

TV today said the CaHiwayPatrolman killed by a rampaging car was done
in by a Lexus loaner! So the car that did the killing was a Lexus, not
a Toyota!!!!!! That means that we have to take cabs until we can get
our two Lexi replaced by relaiable cars. Do the massive chunks of
useless killer iron have any street value at all for trade? Why hasn’t
Lexus recalled the Lexi cars involved??
