One click global open is it only dealer programmable option?

Lexus a bit surprised me. Most of luxury (and not only luxury) cars
manufactures provide flexible options set can be reprogrammed by an
owner. Maybe there are some undocumented procedures to do simple
things like:
1. switch temperature from F to C and back
2. One click global open

I do not want to bring a car to dealer for every change.

'93 SC400 – need new radiator

Anyone have any ideas on non-Lexus places to buy a new radiator for a ’93
SC400?  How hard is the R&R for a DIY-er?

'97 ES 300 Gas?

I keep getting evasive answers from my Lexus dealer about the gas I should
use for the ’97 ES 300 I just bought. The manual says that premium gas will
give "better performance," but the dealer service man won’t specify what
that means. He says that if, to my untrained ears, the ride is OK and
without ping, then use the regular I have occasionally been using. Not being
very mechanical, I’m afraid I’ll damage the car over years of driving. What
to do?

Leather seats and leather steering wheel

I just got a ’97 Lexus ES300 and want to know what the best treatment for
the leather seats is.

Also, I put some Meguilar’s leather treatment on the steering wheel and the
paint(?) or finish peeled away in spots. Is it a leather wheel? What is the
best way to preserve the wheel and take care of the peeling?

96 LS bumpy ride…

Hello all,

I have a 96 LS 400 (that I love) and it’s got about 95k on it now. I’ve been
noticing that the ride is getting more bouncy and it takes bumps in the road
harder. I am assuming that a replacement of the shocks and struts should
sove this problem and give back my Lexus ride that I picked up this car for.

I can not go to a dealer because of the cost (picked up the the car when I
was making good money at a "dot com" that has failed and I can’t find a job
making the same money). I also am afraid to go to one of the dime a dosen
shops that are all over the place, because I am afraid I will never get the
ride that I like back.

Does anyone have Lexus part numbers for the shocks and struts for this car ?
I’m sure I can find them on-line order them and go to a place that I know
very well to have them "swap them out". Or should I be looking at something
else ?

Thanks in advance for your help !

-Dave

1998 Lexus LS400 engine picture wanted

Hello,
Could somebody post or e-mail me a picture of 1998(or older) engine
with the plastic cover removed. As you know plastic covers the entire
engine. If somebody removed the cover, please take a picture of the
engine.

Thanks
