How can I make a copy of a Lexus key (a 1998 ES300)? I was only given one,

Since I picked up my ’01 ES300 I haven’t been able to figure out how to work
the panic button, all I get is a beep. With every other car I’ve had
hitting the panic button sets off the alarm. How does it work? The reason
I ask is that last night the alarm went off at about 3:00 AM, I rushed out
there and no one was around, the car didn’t appear tampered with and the
motion detectors lights on my house hadn’t been triggered yet. I’m thinking
there is some kind of malfunction.
Question number two. The car came with stock wheel locks. Is there
somewhere in the car these are stored? I can’t find them and the family I
bought it from said the car had no flats or tire changes in it’s first 7500
miles which is what it had when I bought it.

Look under the radiator/condenser.

We have two Lexus – an RX330 (05) and an ES 300 (03). The key from
either car will open the door of either car – not the clicker, you have
to put the key in the door. Either key will fit the ignition of either
car but the wrong key will not start the wrong car – we found this out
by accident when we couldn’t start the car one day and finally figured
out the problem. Is this normal or do we have an unusual situation.

Does anyone know how Updated DVDs for a 2002 LS 430 should be labled? I am
interested in purchasing either the most recent one or the one just before
the most recent one. When I touch (DVD) on my screen it shows Data: 2001
ver 1.
I have a 99 RX300, AWD. After an hour or more at ighway speeds it gets a
vibration somewhere in the front end. It rattles the steering wheel
fiercely. The steering is not affected, it does not "pull" left or right.
It does not seem to want to accelerate when this is happening, and seem to
get worse as I slow the car. After I pull off the road and sit for a
minute, it is fine. I do not shut down the motor when I pull off. I have
had the front end aligned, the tires balanced, new brakes in front. Had it
to 4 shops including 2 dealers for this and it is not solved. Has anyone
else out there had this problem? Solved it?
Hi ..
I have a ’96 LS400 … I want to have a new radio installed which can
access Sirius Sat. Radio .. as display is gone on the OEM radio so
this would be a good time to replace it. Any suggestions on a
satellite radio?
Thanks for the help ..
I have a new RX 400h and the navigation screen is beginning to drive me
crazy – Whenever you start the car, it shows the same Annoying
Message about how dangerous it is to look at the navigation screen
while driving. You must then punch "I Agree" on the screen to get rid
of the Annoying Message. The irony is, one often doesn’t notice the
Annoying Message until one’s driving – forcing one to lean over and
punch the screen in order to view the navigation map and other
controls.
Also, you cannot program a destination into the navigator unless the
car is stopped. Never mind that there might be 2 people in the car –
for one of them to program a destination, the driver must stop the car.
Does this bother anyone else? Is there any way to disable the Annoying
Message?? What kind of nanny state-corporate lawyer idiocy spawned
such a cockammie setup? What happens when Lexus is sued by someone who
gets into an accident while leaning over to get rid of the Annoying
Message????
I am getting an "error" message when I try to use the CD changer. Is this a
"code" fixable problem or does the changer unit need to be swapper out?
The led lights on my 96 es300 radio do not illuminate. If I select CD then
certain lights do not work, if I select FM others do not illuminate. Anyone
heard of this and is there a way to fix without replacing the whole unit?
Radio works fine. This is really just a cosmetic issue.
