adding xenon lights to '98 es300?

I’m interested in adding those white ‘xenon’ lights to my ’98 ES300,
and on ebay I’ve seen those headlight bulbs for about $10. But I’ve
also seen some ‘Xenon kits’ that are much more expensive ($180+).
My question: Can I just add the $10 lightbulb or do I need to purchase
the kit? Will the light look ‘xenon’ white with my current headlight
cover?
Thanks.

stereo system for '98 ES300?

I want to change my car stereo since it’s not working properly. Is
there one that you would recommend? I’d rather buy a used one on ebay
than a new one.

Thanks.

Shift Solenoid

1999 ES300 4-Speed Overdrive with 109K miles.
Owned since new.
Trouble Code P0770
" The PCM Has Dectected a Malfunction in Shift Solenoid "E" "
The "Check Engine" and "Trac" light are on and it has been this way for
months.
I see no difference in the way it drives or runs.
I unhooked the battery and cleared the code and it comes right back in a few
hours or at most a few days.
AutoZone scanned for the code
Now,
What sort of ordeal is it to get this repaired?
Where is the solenoid and where can I get one or what is the best way to go
with this?
The "NAG" lights are just what they are …, NAG lights.

All wheel drive vs. front wheel drive SUV's

what is the safety advantage of AWD vs. front wheel drive SUV’s? All I
know is that AWD’s don’t get stuck in the mud as easily. Any other good
points?

CD Error 3?

Naturally this happens just as my RX330 goes out of warranty…

05 RX330 Mark Levenson stereo.  When RX was 1st purchased 4 CDs were
inserted in the 6 CD changer. Since purchase of XM radio last Christmas, CD
player has not been used at all.  Last week I decided to remove the CDs from
the changer.   I press the eject button, for several seconds it seems to be
going through the eject process then just stops.  I try several times with
the same result.  Try to play one of the CDs, after several seconds the
display starts flashing "ERROR 3".

Any ideas what the error means and is the only remedy to take it back to the
dealer for repair?

BTW they are commercially purchased CDs, not copies.

Thanks for any help.

More Information

99 ES300
Shift Solenoid "E" malfunction.

PO770 Code

Question: What does the "E" solenoid do?
There are different solenoids so I assume this one makes it shift from what
gear to what gear or?
The dealership isn’t much help.
They say it needs a new transmission.
I doubt that because I have been driving the thing for awhile now and it
shifts fine and the issue is just the lights on.
So, what does that solenoid actually do?

Keeping new leather seats from cracking

I plan on purchasing a new Lexus with leather seats. It has disturbed
me to see so many pre-owned vehicles with leather seats (3-4 years old)
with cracks in the leather
I keep my cars for atleast 10 years and want to do my best to preserve
the leather.
There are so many products out there such as Lexol, Leatherique,
Armor-all leather cleaner etc.
Some are all-in-one products, some have seperate cleaner and
conditioner.
Please share your advice on keeping the leather seats in top condition.
Which products? How often to treat? etc.

You can purchase replacement batteries at Radio Shack, hardware store, drug
store, or anywhere that sells button style batteries.  According to the
Lexus web site, replacement battery type is 3 volt Panasonic BR1216.  I took
a look inside my key and it has a CR 1616 battery, which is slightly larger
than the 1216.

The easiest thing to do would be to go to a Lexus dealer and ask them to
replace the battery for you, or you can replace it yourself if you have a
small Phillips screwdriver.  Remove the small Phillips screw on the side of
the key that is opposite from the buttons and open up the key.  The module
underneath can be lifted out, and remove the 2 small Phillips screw on the
module. Insert the replacement batter with the plus + side up.
