I’d like to hear from anyone who test drove the GS 300 and the GS 430 and
bought a GS 300 and why.
What’s different besides V6 vs a V8? Any suspension parts different? Any
thing else?
I’ve driven a few of the GS 400s and GS430s and love them, but to be frank,
it’s out of my league.
Now the GS 300 might be a better deal for me…

The GS300 has 220 vs the 300hp in the GS400-430. The suspension is tighter
on the 400-430 as this is more of a performance vehicle compared to the 300.
Both are great vehicles and you won’t go wrong with either one of them. Tom

The GS3 has an inline-six, the GS430 the V8.
I drove both extensively before deciding on the GS3. I thought the
power was more than adequate and the inline-six reminds me a bit of
the smooth engine int he BMW 3-series I used to drive. I did upgrade
the tires with Michelin’s in one size wider and less aspect ratio.
Lexus has said that there is no difference in suspension tuning
between the GS3 and GS430 except for higher spring rates to handle the
bigger engine and tires/wheels (the GS430 is available with 17′s).
With the upgraded tires, I don’t notice a handling difference.
So I think it is mainly a matter of whether you want to spend extra to
get more thrust.
