This is a inherent weakness of all "differential" thermometers.
Differential meaning there are 2 temperature sensetive transistors.
The voltage diferential between them is the actual temperature. The
latest value is sotred in the computer and when you turn on the car
the new readings start to come in. The differential is very smal and
if the temperature has chenged significantly since the last reading it
might take up to 5 minutes for the velue to level off.
