Jeff,

I normally use ArmorAll Car Wash to do the body panels, etc. This should
be safe–at least I would think so anyway.

I would use only a carwashing specific soap.  The wheels on my IS300 (Graphite
polished versions) are clear coated and I think you want to avoid anything like
a metal polish or other abraisive.  Dishwashing soap, like Dawn for example,
can attack and stain aluminum surfaces in the case of a chip in the clear coat.
 I’ve found the wheels to be easy to clean using the same soapy water solution
as for cleaning the rest of the car.
