I have a ’95 5 sepped with 86,000 miles. It is fun to drive and it
still looks like a sports car. Long low hood followed by a short
passenger compartment. Enough power (225 HP) and still reasonable fuel
economy. 27 MPG (U.S.) highway at 70-75 MPH.
The only thing I would change is the 5th gear final ratio. The engine
is turning 3,000 RPMs at 70 MPH. I understand this was done for
performance handling and "passing" acceleration. I guess we are not
supposed to "worry" about fuel economy when you are buying this type
of sporty car, but I guess it is just the "miser" in me that would
like to see a 6th gear.
The SC300 automatic runs at 2750 RPM going 70 mph.
