We have a 1993 Lexus ES300. Vehicle has 89,000 miles on it and runs
like a top.
We bought a new set of tires about 2 years ago… Michelin’s, but I
cannot recall the specific model. We haven’t been too pleased with
them.
Does anyone recall what the original factory tires were? I think they
may have been Dunlop’s, but don’t remember the model or type.
What tires would be recommended for our vehicle? We do approximately
25 miles per day freeway driving. The rest, basic city streets.
Climate is very hot.
Thanks,
B

I checked the Tire Rack http://www.tirerack.com and it says the OEM size was
205/65-15. Unfortunately is does not give the brand or model. I am
currently running Bridgestone RE950′s ( 60 series ) and I am very happy with
them so far. They are quiet and good in the rain. I think they are
adequate in snow but I have no personal experience with these tires in snow
conditions as I currently live in El Paso and we had a mild winter. I
suggest you go to the Tire Rack WEB site and read the reviews on the
tire(s). In your case you might actually be interested in a touring tire or
even a summer performance tire if you do not get snow an ice where you live.

Might pay to take the car into the dealer and have him replace the little ball
in the tranny that goes out on the 93s and costs a bunch of money to fix. Known
problem, cured in later models. Happened to my wife’s.
