IS 200 SE manual without sat Nav, cant see the point till it interfaces
with the traffic reports.

Sat nav will stay a DVD as I herad it, there will not be like the carminat
reanult system who’s able to include traffic jam radio report.
In japan the DVD is also a TV, not in Europe

Damn, I was hoping for a serious Sat Nav upgrade next year, it’s the one thing
I couldn’t get on my current IS, so was going to get a new one with Sat Nav.
If it wasn’t for the fact that the official Sat Nav system looks so cool and
well integrated into the car, I’d simply buy a 3rd party one and have it
installed afterwards !
Anyone know of a 3rd party Sat Nav system where the screen can fit into the
same area as the official Lexus Sat Nav system on an IS200 ?

I can’t remember on wich Lexus fan site I saw something like that, an
)
australian guy done it on his IS.
Hi fited it exactly at the same place than Lexus original one, but without
the good looking of a Lex accessory.
Personnaly I’ve got the CD-Rom one in my IS, and probably will buy another
Lex in a few days with the DVD one.
When you’re in the middle of a traffic jam, you just have to take the first
road, street, etc etc to run from it, the GPS will automaticaly recalculate
a new road to your destination soŠ
One more thing, thanks to the GPS, there isn’t anymore nerves inside the car
looking for a street name, direction to take, that’s one, and it’s a safety
system because you don’t have to look away from the road, just have to
listen to the voice system
