I had the problem on my '98 Es300 (water was actually running down the
inside of the windshield).

The dealer: 1) Replaced Blower motor subassembly (p/n 8710344020 and 2)
resealed complete cowl area, saying there seemed to be leakage there as
well.

That helped the problem, but I still seemed to sense moisture and a musty
smell. I then found that my wife was constantly turning OFF the auto
temperature control, especially when she didn't want to breathe fumes from
cars in front of her. I was told by another Lexus owner NEVER to turn that
off, as air flow is necessary thru that unit to prevent such problems. We
now NEVER, EVER turn that AUTO switch off, and there have been no more
problems of any kind with moisture on the inside or odors. I don't know how
much the fan motor and sealant had to do with it, but it apparently was a
combination of all those things.

Greg Lewis <glewi...@san.rr.com> wrote in message

news:ef3b501f.0106021056.ca4554d@posting.google.com...

- Hide quoted text -- Show quoted text -
> Hello All,

> I have a problem with my front windshield fogging. This is happening
> in all weather conditions, warm, cool or hot. The only way I can get the
> fogging to stop is to put on the air conditioner. Does anyone have an
idea
> as to what might be causing this? I have checked the coolant level and it
is
> not going down so I don't believe it is the heater core leaking.

> Any suggestions are appreciated!

> Thanks

> Greg
